Lee Brennan

Lee was born in Carlisle in 1973. His first job was as a sign maker, sticking letters on all the Eddie Stobart wagons. Lee worked at Hollywood Bowl for a few years before leaving to join his 911 bandmates, Jimmy Constable and Simon ‘Spike’ Dawbarn, who then shot to fame (and straight into the hearts of millions of teenage girls across the globe) back in the late 90s. In an era when boybands dominated the pop music scene, the dynamic trio stood out from the crowd with their high energy performances and catchy pop songs, winning them a legion of loyal fans, phenomenal success and securing their place as one of the most enduringly popular groups of the decade.

In the five years they were together, 911 sold over 10 million records worldwide including 4 studio albums and 13 singles. They were one of only five acts in the 90s to achieve ten consecutive UK Top Ten Hit Singles, eight of which were Top Five Hits and included their platinum-selling Number One single ‘A Little Bit More’. They played to sell-out arenas on their tours of the UK, Europe and Asia, playing to 70,000 people in Singapore and headlined the legendary Smash Hits Tour in 1998.

After announcing their split in 2000 live on the Chris Moyles Radio 1 Breakfast Show, the band re-formed in 2013 for ITV2’s fly-on-the-wall documentary, The Big Reunion. Featuring some of the best-loved groups of the 90s including Five, Atomic Kitten, B*Witched, Blue and Liberty X, the show documented the ups and downs of pop success as the bands prepared for a spectacular come-back concert. The highly acclaimed programme was watched by over 2 million people and led to a sell-out arena tour which saw the reassembled acts play to over 200,000 devoted fans. Early in 2020 & again in September 2021, 911 marked their 25th anniversary as a group performing to sell-out crowds throughout the UK with The Boys Are Back theatre tour alongside Five, A1 and Damage.

Lee is also an experienced stage actor, he performed as Willard in 80 shows of Footloose The Musical (produced by Selladoor) on their UK tour, and has appeared in 14 pantomimes across the UK including playing the Prince in Sleeping Beauty, and Beauty And The Beast as well as Peter Pan and Aladdin. He has been  a contestant on BBC Saturday night show ‘The Hit List’.

For some years now he produces his own charity ball called ‘Shine A Light ‘for cancer charities, in memory of his Step Dad Steve, who died from lung cancer. Lee has survived cancer twice, as a child and as a teenager.

Alongside 911, Lee is currently enjoying success in Vietnam after the massive hit  ‘I Do’. The track was a collab with well known Asian artist Du Phuc, which reached Number 1 in Billboard, & has involved a massive promo tour over in Asia.

Very recently Lee and 911 were interviewed and featured in the critically acclaimed  ‘Boybands Forever’ Television Series produced by BAFTA winning producers Louis Theroux /Nancy Strang/ Mindhouse for BBC 2 & BBC Pop Music TV.
