Compost Carole
Carole Edwards born and bred in the West Country has bright pink hair and a broad west country accent and has enjoyed working in horticulture for half her life, 30 years to be precise! She is known for her winning smile and very bubbly, engaging personality!
Compost Carole has been involved in the planting and maintaining of many super gardens and parks, garden centres, and nursery’s, which evolved into her own plant business for a while, with many times being asked if she was Charlie Dimmock in her early years!!
She then went on to be a Postie for 11 years, but after having a total knee replacement, she could not do the mileage as a Postie anymore!
Compost Carole was then advised to choose a more sedate job, (being a cashier for a local supermarket) and as an enthusiastic people person, enjoys it immensely, alongside of course still growing her own flowers & vegetables. Carole notes that she applied for the ‘Great British Bake off’ to prove to herself she could do it, before she got too old! She was also featured in a local radio gardening spot which she enjoyed & had huge fun doing.
It is an understatement to say Carole was very surprised she got selected for the class of 2022 and ‘Great British Bake Off’ even filmed her at home, showing super footage of her fab garden!
Still very active with her horticulture, she’s either got a trowel in one hand and a whisk in the other.!
These last few months have seen Compost Carole enjoying working alongside some super brands and appearing up and down the UK at various Food Festivals, cooking her recipes. (still with bright pink curly hair) wrapped up nicely with Compost Carole invited as a guest on the Extra Slice TV programme.
A Festive TV Special followed on Christmas Eve, ‘The Great Christmas Bake Off’.
This had challenges set for past invited bakers, alongside of course, Pru Leith, Paul Hollywood, Noel Fielding & Alison Hammond judging. It was a fantastic Christmas Season television show!
The future heralds seeing Compost Carole working with some top brands and TV opportunities, alongside cooking up a storm on her many demonstrations, countrywide.
