Sam is excited to announce that she is playing, WHATSERNAME in the special UK and Ireland anniversary tour of the ground breaking Tony Award winning rock musical, ‘American Idiot’, with music by punk-pop and multi grammy award winning band, Green Day! this will start Nationwide in the New Year.

Alongside now having joined the Capital North East Family presenting on  95- 106 Capital Radio F M, the future looks very bright for this very talented young lady !


Following X Factor, 2017 had been mega busy and exciting for Sam working in the studio on her music, co-writing and recording her second single release, entitled ”Beat Of You”, following on from her super radio friendly, well received, co-writen debut track ‘Walk Away’.

Beat Of You is again with the same writing and production team as Walk away.

Walk Away attained very good exposure as Radio stations naturally picked up on the song (with over 100 radio plays,) alongside National Press coming on board.

Sam did extensive training to compete in ‘The Great North Run; (10th September 2017).

The run was for Metro Radio’s, Cash For Kids, alongside of course many celebrities including Davina McCall, won of course by the Mighty Mo Farah.

Fitness is a very big part of this stunning Brunettes life. She has taken part regularly in charity events, training 6 days a week.

A Total adrenaline lover! In love with extreme sports like Paragliding, Gliding and Scuba Diving in Caves….It’s truly a passion

On the Live front, Sam was solidly performing throughout 2017 including:

*Daily Mirror Pride Of Britain Awards

* A stellar performance at MTV alongside Example, Louisa and Diversity

*Special guest dates with Matt Goss of Bros

*Performance at the mega Party In The Park Newcastle.

This culminated in Sam proudly announcing her own solo tour dates for early 2018

Sam said “I am so excited for my tour not only to show everyone the new music I’ve been working on but to meet everyone who has supported me throughout my journey so far!

The atmosphere is going to be electric and I can’t wait to get on stage in front of everyone.”

After reaching the Final 7 contestants on the X Factor (with Simon Cowell as her mentor.) Simon wrote on his card ‘Sam Lavery’ as his projected winner in the judge’s pre choice envelopes. All 4 judges gave her a standing ovation for her barnstorming version of Michael Jacksons Earth Song.

Sharon praised her saying “You are unbelievable! In this X Factor you are the only one that has a strong authentic voice, Very, Very, Good!”

Nicole Scherzinger named Sam “A Warrior Princess!” saying “Your voice has fire behind it”. Louis Walsh had awarded Sam the wildcard vote to judges houses and Simon (with Sam’s new stripped back look) said, “I have heard things in your voice that I have not heard before.” On her final TV performance on X Factor Simon told Sam “not to worry as Ella Henderson has had great success from not winning and indeed Jennifer Hudson who came 7th in American Idol has gone on to have a glittering career”

Early 2017 saw Sam performing every night on the X Factor Live Arena Tour around the UK and Ireland, she Loved It!

Sam started singing at the age of 10, when during a school trip to Holy Island, she took part in a talent contest, (which was a random spontaneous idea) and from then on,she says “I realised how much I loved singing! It felt natural and I loved every second. From then on I’ve never stopped!”

Sam lives in a small village in county Durham (Her Mam originally from a small pit village called Thornley and her Dad ‘of Irish decent’ hails from Consett)

In 2014 Sam became  winner of The Soundwave Music Competition.

This then led on to a couple of years entering many different competitions and open mike nights mainly in the North East, eventually becoming YGT and Music Magazine upcoming artist in 2016.

With her deep interest in music ever growing, Sam took all the song co-writing opportunities in 2017 and has now found herself ready to release several stunning tracks throughout 2018.

This year has also seen Sam enjoy her own first headline solo live tour dates alongside performing during April & May as Special Guest for Heather Small ‘The Voice Of M People,’ on her extensive Nationwide Tour, which Sam relished.

For the Night’ single has been very well received by Radio with over 200 radio plays to date, and retail starting to come into play.

Releasing a super re-mix of the track by BBC Radio 1 introducing winner, A J Moreno (who recently featured at Creamfields) lots of play from club DJ’s has now ensued.

Sam has released her brilliantly catchy and edgy fourth single ‘Bad Boys’ this Summer continuing to bring more Radio, Clubs and Retail on board. Bad Boys was added to several of Spotify’s playlists including New Music Friday.

She continues to perform up and down the country and recently was special guest at the London date for Saara Alto.

Now with Sam’s Capital Radio news and American Idiot in 2019 her star is on the ascendant.
