”I said from the start Sam Lavery had huge potential. Sam released her first single (Walk Away) independently. Very decent and catchy”

Walk Away attained very good exposure as Radio stations naturally picked up on the song (with over 100 radio plays,) alongside National Press coming on board.

On the Live front, Sam was solidly performing throughout 2017 including:

*Daily Mirror Pride Of Britain Awards

* A stellar performance at MTV alongside Example, Louisa and Diversity

*Special guest dates with Matt Goss of Bros

*Performance at the mega Party In The Park Newcastle.

This culminated in Sam proudly announcing her own solo tour dates for early 2018

X FACTOR
After reaching the Final 7 contestants on the X Factor (with Simon Cowell as her mentor), Simon wrote on his card ‘Sam Lavery’ as his projected winner in the judge’s pre choice envelopes. All 4 judges gave her a standing ovation for her barnstorming version of Michael Jacksons Earth Song.

Sharon praised her saying “You are unbelievable! In this X Factor you are the only one that has a strong authentic voice, Very, Very, Good!”

Nicole Scherzinger named Sam “A Warrior Princess!” saying “Your voice has fire behind it”. Louis Walsh had awarded Sam the wildcard vote to judges houses and Simon (with Sam’s new stripped back look) said, “I have heard things in your voice that I have not heard before.” On her final TV performance on X Factor Simon told Sam “not to worry as Ella Henderson has had great success from not winning and indeed Jennifer Hudson who came 7th in American Idol has gone on to have a glittering career”

Early 2017 saw Sam performing every night on the X Factor Live Arena Tour around the UK and Ireland, she Loved It!

Sam also did extensive training to compete in The Great North Run (Sept 2017)for Metro Radio Cash for Kids, alongside Davina McCall and the mighty Mo Farah.

Sam started singing at the age of 10, when during a school trip to Holy Island, she took part in a talent contest, (which was a random spontaneous idea) and from then on,she says “I realised how much I loved singing! It felt natural and I loved every second. From then on I’ve never stopped!”

This then led on to a couple of years entering many different competitions and open mike nights mainly in the North East, eventually becoming YGT and Music Magazine upcoming artist in 2016.

Sam enjoyed her own first headline solo live tour dates in 2018 alongside performing during April & May as Special Guest for Heather Small ‘The Voice Of M People,’ on her extensive Nationwide Tour, which Sam relished.

For the Night’ single was very well received by Radio with over 200 radio plays, leading to releasing a super re-mix of the track by BBC Radio 1 introducing winner, A J Moreno (who recently featured at Creamfields) lots of play from club DJ’s ensued.

Sam released her brilliantly catchy and edgy fourth single ‘Bad Boys’ last Summer continuing to bring more Radio, Clubs and Retail on board. Bad Boys was added to several of Spotify’s playlists including New Music Friday.

She continued to perform up and down the country and was special guest at the London date for Saara Alto.

The possibility of a strong theatre role had very much beckoned Sam and to her excitement she landed the fabulous part of Whatshername, for the mega exciting ‘American Idiot Nationwide Tour’ through Selladoor , which she appears in till mid 2019.

“Sam Lavery as Whatshername, supplies fantastic vocals and a women who is stuck behind love, or doing the right thing. Sam’s vocals in terms of singing are definitely one of the most powerful within this production. She wows the audience and packs a punch in some of the notes she can reach, leaving the audience in awe. This was a superb performance.”

This super talented young women’s star is very much on the ascendant.
